ARLA - member 2260 We are members of (ARLA) The Association of Residential Letting Agents. Formed in 1981 as the professional and regulatory body for letting agents in the UK it now has 1,800 member offices. Membership is achieved only by agents who demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of their profession and that they conduct their business according to current best management practice. ARLA members are governed by Principles of Professional Conduct providing a framework of ethical and professional standards at a level far higher than the law demands. The Ombudsman for Estate Agents(OEA) Scheme We are members of the OEA scheme, it is designed to reach a resolution of unresolved disputes in full and final settlement. It provides actual and potential buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants of property with free and independent redress of complaints relating to acts or omissions of Members in connection with the sale and/or purchase and/or letting of property in the United Kingdom.

Tenancy Deposit Scheme - member TDSO8I6
The Government has legislated that neither landlords nor letting agents can hold deposits during a tenancy unless they are part of an approved scheme. Letting agencies who join the TDSRA have to be members of approved professional bodies such as ARLA, the Association of Residential Letting Agents, or the RICS, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Members of these bodies are fully bonded, carry professional indemnity insurance, operate ring fenced client accounts and have qualified staff.
